Circlestone Swing Team
After 25 years in the golf software business we thought we had seen or at least heard about all of the
competition formats in the game of golf, and had covered many of them in our tournament products.  Not!
In October 2009 Nelson Beene from the Circlestone Country Club in Adel, Georgia asked us if we had
software that could support an event format that has similarities to our Nassau Round Robin but with a
significantly different and complex scoring format.  At the time we didn't; but, as we have done several
times in response to requests from our customers, we now do - the Circlestone Swing Team program.

The Circlestone competition has the following characteristics:

  • 2-man teams

  • One of the teams is a Swing Team which competes against all or a selected number of
2-man teams formed by combinations of the other players in the event.

  • Wagers for a specified Wager Amount are made on each hole in two categories:
             - - The better-ball Net score of the two teams
             - - Bonus wagers based on Gross player scores - Birdie - 1, Eagle - 2, Double Eagle - 3

  • Handicap Strokes are allocated on the basis of the lowest player handicap in a match.
The player with the lowest handicap is given a handicap of zero; the other players receive
handicap strokes equal to the difference between their full handicap and the full handicap
        of the low-handicap player.

  • The result of each match is the difference between the total hole wagers won by each team.
For example, if Team A wins 14 hole wagers and Team B wins 12 hole wagers, the overall
match result is +2 for Team A and -2 for Team B.

  • The money won or lost by each team is the team's total net match wagers for all matches
played multiplied by the Wager Amount.

In addition to the Swing Team competition the program also supports individual matches among the
players on the same wagering basis as the team matches.  You can also conduct a Skins Game for
individual  players based on Gross and/or Net scores (either or both).

Sound interesting and exciting - we think so!  It may well be a competition that you would like to add to your
club's events.  If so, the Circlestone Swing Team program will allow you to do in a very small fraction of the
time it would take you to obtain results manually (if you would even consider doing it manually).  The
illustration below will give you an idea of the power of the software - the match results shown are produced
almost instantly when you click the
Process Match button.

Clicking on the "book" icon to the left at the bottom of the menu column will give you access to the
program's built-in Help System for a complete description and illustration of all program features.
