Nassau Round Robin
In the late 1980's during one of our visits to the PGA Merchandise Show, a golf professional from
Omaha approached us with the following challenge: "I have a Tuesday morning event where some 40
to 60 players get together for breakfast and then play a $2 Nassau where each player plays against all
the other players.  I go 'nutso' with the scoring and I need a computer program that will do both the
scoring and all the financial results."
Our response to this challenge
was the Nassau Round Robin
program.  Originally developed to
support an "Everybody Plays
Everybody" match play event, the
program has evolved to support a
variety of competitions within a
single event.

Today, results for any or all of five
competitions can be produced for a
single set of scores within a single
event of Individual or Team
entrants.

You can choose to conduct just
one of these competitions, more
than one, or all five in the same
event.  Plus, either or both of Gross
and Net results can be produced.
The following competitions are available to you:

  • Everybody Plays Everybody Nassau Match Play (Individual or Team)
  • One Player/Team Against the Field in Match Play (single match versus other entrants)
  • Swing Team (designated 2-player team versus all team combinations of other entrants)
  • Gross and/or Net Stroke Play
  • Gross and/or Net Skins Games (Individual or Team)

For example, you can run a Skins Game only; or, you can combine Individual or Team Stro
ke Play with
a Skins Game on the side; or, you can use the original Everybody Plays Everybody Nassau format with
or without a Skins Game; etc.  These flexible combinations are such that we've thought about a new
name for the program.

Both the Nassau Match Play and Skins Games include complete financial results.  For the Nassau
you can choose the same or different wager amounts for the Front 9, Back 9 and Overall 18.  As you
can see in the above illustration, there are options for Automatic Back 9 Presses and Multiple Presses
within both the Front 9 and Back 9, both of which are based on a number of Holes Down you specify.
There's also an option for basing results on 18-hole play only - that is, no Front 9/Back 9 wagering.
For the Skins Game an option is provided to use or not use Carryovers, and Skins Values can be
either fixed or based on a share of an entry fee money pool.

The Nassau Round Robin is an excellent example of how a single software package enables you to
conduct informal events that will expand your services, generate player interest, enhance your
professional image, and add revenue to your golf operation.
