Match Play Brackets

The program provides you two ways to form Match Play Brackets -- by Player Handicaps or based on Scores.  The former is accessed via the Pairings Menu and the latter via the Results Menu.  For both methods, the same screen is used to collect your specifications for forming the brackets.

When the feature is accessed from the Pairings Menu, only the Player Handicaps option button is active and selected in the Pairings Basis area.  When the feature is accessed from the Results Menu, all the option buttons in the Pairings Basis area are active and you can select either Player Handicaps or one of the listed Scoring Categories.  Brackets based on Scores are typically used when a stroke play qualifying round is used to establish flights in a match play tournament.

The Bracket Sizes area of the screen gives you flexibility in how brackets are formed.  You can choose to have the First Bracket the same or a different size than the Remaining Brackets.  You also have a checkbox option to name the first bracket "Championship" versus Flight 1.

When you click the Process button the program automatically creates the brackets, prepares a printed report, and returns you to the Main Menu screen.  There is no screen display of the brackets information.

Note: Because of a horizontal space limitation in placing the brackets on a printed page, the length of Player Names is limited to 19 characters.  The program automatically truncates Player Names to 19 characters when required.
