Reports
As shown, three reports are available to you from the Reports submenu. These reports are in addition to the reports available during the processing of Withholding and Results, and the Rosters Report that's part of the Rosters feature.
Odds Report
Race Odds are displayed on the Wager Entry Screen as you enter wagers and are updated with each wager entry. The Odds Report gives you Odds for each Race in printed form. You can print the report at any time. You will usually print it after all wagers have been entered to give your participants the final odds. However, if you enter wagers in multiple sessions you may wish to print the report after each session as a source of information for subsequent wagers.
Pari-Mutuel Odds are usually based on Win wagers only, and it is these "Odds to Win" that are displayed during wager entry. However, the Odds Report includes an option to also print a report of the odds for Place and Show. When you select the Odds Report an input box allows you to specify Win, Place or Show. Note that all Odds are approximations because they are expressed in whole numbers. The Odds for Place and Show are less accurate than Win Odds because they are based on a single Post Position's total wagers amount relative to the total money pool for the wager category, and actual payouts are based on multiple winning Post Positions. Excluding ties, there are two Place payouts (one for the Race winner and one for the second-place finisher) and three Show payouts (one for each of the first three finishers). Payouts calculations take into account the total wagers amount of all Post Positions that receive a payout relative to the total money pool for the wager category.
Audit Trail Report
The audit trail is simply a listing of every wager entered; it includes the Race Number, Ticket Number, Post Position Number and the Wager Amount for each of Win, Place and Show. Its primary use is for financial reconciliation. It is also useful for identifyimg mismatch errors between wager tickets and wager entries to the program. In Event Setup you have the option to specify that the audit trail be printed as wagers are being entered, but most of our customers find it more convenient to print it via the Reports submenu after each wager entry session.
Winnings By Ticket Holder Report
This report is especially useful if you use individual Wager Tickets - that is, a single Win/Place/Show wager on a ticket. This will be the case if you let the program assign Ticket Numbers (the default) or use the program's feature for printing Wager Tickets on a receipt printer. You can also create individual Wager Tickets using your own Ticket Numbers. Note that you must use the Ticket Names feature of the program to be able to print this report.
Winnings By Ticket Number Report
This report is especially useful if your wager tickets include multiple Win/Place/Show wagers for multiple Races and/or multiple Post Positions under a single Ticket Number (ala the Wager Sheets provided by the program or your own equivalent). If you use the Ticket Names feature of the program ticket holder names are included in the report; otherwise, only the Ticket Numbers are included.
The Payouts Reports provided during Results processing are for individual Races and they show the payouts for individual wagers in each of the Win, Place and Show categories. The Winnings By Ticket Holder and Winnings By Ticket Number Reports show total winnings for all winning Win, Place and Show wagers across all Races. They thus give you a very simple way to handle payouts in a single report. You will usually use just one of the two reports depending on the nature of your Wager Tickets.
Important: You must process final Results and print the Results Reports from the Results screen for all Races before printing the Winnings By Ticket Holder or Winnings By Ticket Number report.
