Prize List Matching Specifications
GTM's Prize List Matching feature allows you to create Prize Lists for the Scoring Categories being used in a tournament and then match those Prize Lists to Scoring results to produce presentation-ready reports that list the prize winners and the prizes they have won. Click the link at the bottom of this topic for a description of how you can create and update Prize Lists. Of course, Prize Lists must have already been prepared before you can do Prize List Matching.
Prize List Matching is done automatically by the program based on your specifications and selected options. You first select the Scoring results to be used in the matching by clicking either the Day Results or, if applicable, the Cumulative Multi-Day Results option button in the Match Prizes To area of the screen. One or the other or both of the Individual Prizes and Team Prizes areas, and the applicable Scoring Categories within them, will be activated based on the Scoring Categories being used in the tournament. Simply click the checkboxes for the Scoring Categories you wish to match to Prize Lists and fill in the number of PRIZES you wish to award in each category.
A powerful and time-saving feature of Prize List Matching is a capability to handle the situation where a player or team qualifies for a prize in more than one Scoring Category, i.e. in both Gross and Net. You have the option to allow duplicate prizes or award only a single prize based on the Scoring Category in which the player/team has a higher (better) finish. To allow duplicate prizes, simply click the Duplicate Prizes checkbox. To limit players/teams to a single prize, leave this box unchecked and click either the Gross or Net option button under Ties Preference to specify which prize is to be awarded if a player/team finishes in the same place in both the Gross and Net categories. When you specify that duplicate prizes are not allowed GTM does all the time-consuming "juggling" for you and prepares completely separated prize winner reports matched to your Prize Lists. Click the Print Reports button to print reports for either Duplicate Prizes option.
Note that when both Individual and Team Prizes are applicable and you choose to not allow duplicate prizes, the awarding of Individual and Team Prizes is independent. That is, a player can receive both an Individual Prize and a Team Prize. The single-prize restriction is applied only within the Individual and Team categories.
