Skins Games -- Participants Selection

Selecting participants in Skins Games is as easy as selecting the option to have all players/teams participate or marking checkboxes for selective participants.

When the Participants Selection screen is presented only the top part is visible.  Simply select the desired option buttons in the Scoring Type (Individual or Team), Game Type (Gross, Net or Both), and Participation (All or Selective) areas and click the Continue button.  If you choose to have All Players participate the program automatically marks the players for participation in the selected game(s) and informs you via a message box.  If you choose Selective participation, the bottom part of the screen is then displayed.  It contains a list of your players for Individual scoring or a list of the names of the first Team player for Team scoring.  The GROSS and/or NET columns will be displayed depending on your choice of Game Type.

Note: The Continue button is not shown on the illustration below.  It is removed after you make your selections.

Simply mark or uncheck the checkboxes to identify participants and non-participants.  If the number of your players/teams is greater than 30, Previous and Next buttons are displayed for navigating through the list.  The Clear Selections button can be used to uncheck (deselect) all players/teams and start a new set of selections.  When you have completed your selections on all screens, click the Save Selections button to save them.  Click the Print Report button for a printed report of those players/team that are not participating (a Non-Participants Report).  When your work is complete, click the Exit button to return to the Program Menu screen.

Note: For Team games, the names shown on the selection screen are those of the first player in each player group.  For Individual games, if the number of players in a player group is less than the Maximum Group Size specified for your Player List, blank player names will appear on the selection screen.  Simply ignore these blank entries and do not make Game Type selections for them.

We recommend that you do Participants Selection before you complete tournament scoring (a good time to do this is when players are on the course).  By doing so you can then go straight to Process Skins Game Results when scoring is complete and reduce the time required to process results.

If you have made player changes during Scoring, the list of players for Skins Selection will not reflect those changes (because the list is prepared from your Player List as it was at the start of Scoring).  However, note that the player entries on the selection list are Text Boxes.  Therefore, you can modify the list to reflect player name changes made during Scoring.  If you do so, the modified names must be exactly the same in spelling as the name changes made during Scoring (because the comparison between scoring records and the selection list is on the basis of player names).

You can return to Participants Selection at any time to modify your selections.  As a final "safety measure," if you process results and discover an error in Participants Selection, you can redo your selections and rerun Skins Game Results.
