Master Player List Import From GHIN-Windows

To create a Master Player List from the GHIN-Windows Handicap System you must first create a file of player information from within the GHIN System.  This file must be named GHINDATA.TXT and it is created via the GHIN Import Export Utility.  Instructions for use of this utility program are provided in the GHIN Help Files.  Access these instructions by searching for "GHIN import export utility" from within GHIN Help.  Note the following requirements for exporting a file that can be used by GTM:

-- The descriptive name of the Export Format must be GHINDATA
-- The Output Format must be Comma Delimited
-- The following six Fields must be selected in the order shown:
               - Player Name
               - Local Number
               - Gender
               - Holes 9/18
               - Handicap Index
               - Trend Handicap Index
-- Note the suggested folder destination of the file or specify a folder name of your choice
-- Ensure that the file name has a .TXT extension
-- You may select from among the GHIN Handicap Program Criteria as you wish
-- The resulting filename will be the required GHINDATA.TXT

You will need to design the Export Format just once.  For subsequent exports simply select the existing GHINDATA Export Format.  You will usually export new information to the GTM Master Player List after each Official Handicap Revision.

Once you have created the GHINDATA.TXT file simply select the options you wish to use via the Handicap Basis, Gender and Sort By option buttons.  Then enter the Folder Name where the file is located (the destination folder used in the GHIN Import Export Utility).  Enter just the name of the folder without any drive letter or punctuation. When you click the Process button the GHIN information will be retrieved automatically.  When it's complete an OK button will appear; when you click this button the imported information will be displayed on the Master Player List Screen.
