Handicap Adjustments
Per the provisions of the USGA Handicap System, a handicap committee may adjust a player's Handicap Index for a variety of reasons that are documented in the USGA Handicap System Manual. Such adjustments can be made via the Handicap Adjust button on the Player Maintenance Screen and completing the information on this screen. If an adjustment does not presently exist simply enter the adjusted Handicap Index and click the Process button. Upon return to the Player Maintenance Screen you will see the player's USGA handicap information colored in Red and a "Committee Adjustment" notation alongside the information.
If an adjustment is already in place when you click the Handicap Adjust button, a variation of this screen is presented from which you can remove the adjustment.
Note: Handicap Adjustments by the Handicap Committee, i.e. those made from the Player Maintenance Screen, are different than adjustments (reductions) made under the Exceptional Tournament Scores provision (Section 10-3) of the USGA Handicap System. Tournament-Score Adjustments are determined and applied by the GHM Program automatically each time a Recalculation of Handicaps (a Handicaps Revision) is performed. Handicap Indexes adjusted by the Handicap Committe are marked with the letter "M" (Modified) on screen displays and reports; those adjusted for Exceptional Tournament Performance are marked with the letter "R" (Reduced).
