Player Status
GHM provides two flexible options for designating the status of your players: Active/Inactive and Paid/Unpaid. When you add players to your handicap database they are marked as Active and Paid by default. You can change either or both of these designations via the Player Status button on the Player Maintenance Screen which activates this screen. The player's current status in indicated by the option buttons; to make a change simply click the appropriate buttons.
Designating a player as Inactive results in the player not being included in reports. Also, the player cannot be accessed in the Player Scores Entry feature. However, the player is not removed from the handicap database when marked as Inactive. You may permanently remove Inactive players from the handicap database via a selection from the Utilities submenu of the Handicap Maintenance Menu.
The Paid/Unpaid feature is beneficial in those cases where a handicap fee is charged and you wish to keep track of payments. Unpaid players can be marked as Inactive via a selection from the Utilities submenu of the Handicap Maintenance Menu. The Paid/Unpaid status of all players can be set to Unpaid via the Period Initialization task from the System Functions submenu, which is a task you will usually perform at the start of a new season.
