Reports Menu / Descriptions

GHM provides a wider range of handicap reports than most all professional handicapping software.  These reports are selectable from the illustrated Reports submenu, and may be prepared for Men, Ladies, Individual Players and selected Group Codes.  The arrows alongside three of the reports indicate additional options for these reports: the Alphabetic Handicap List can be either printed or displayed; the Most Improved Golfer Report can be based on either the USGA or Golf Digest method; the Name and Address Reports can be either a printed listing or address labels.

All reports except the Alphabetic Handicap List and the Tournament Scores Report are available in printed form only.  When you select a report from the menu you are presented with the Group Selection window in which you select the player(s) to be included in the report.  The following are summary descriptions of each report.  An illustration of the Alphabetic Handicap List display follows the descriptions.  To see the content of a report we suggest you print a sample report for an individual player.

Master Player Listing: An alphabetic listing of all selected players that includes the Handicap Index, Course Handicap and the last 20 scores with marking of the scores used in the last handicap revision.

Alphabetic Handicap List: Includes Player Name, Player ID (optional), Handicap Index, Course Handicap, and the number of Rounds Played in the Last Revision Period and Period To Date.  This report can be both displayed and printed.

By-Index Handicap List: Includes the same content as the Alphabetic Handicap List, without the Rounds Played information, in low-to-high Handicap Index sequence.

18-Hole Course Handicaps Report: A player listing with Handicap Index and Course Handicaps on up to six sets of tees that you specify.  There's an option to prepare the report in Alphabetic or Handicap Index sequence.  This report is especially useful if your players regularly play from different sets of tees.

9-Hole Course Handicaps Report: Same as the 18-Hole Course Handicaps Report above except that it includes only those players who are designated as 9-Hole Players.

Handicap Index Adjustment Report: A listing of all players whose Handicap Index has been adjusted by either the Exceptional Tournament Scores provision of the USGA Handicap System or by the Handicap Committee.  Includes both the Calculated (unadjusted) and Adjusted Handicap Indexes, and the reason for the adjustment.  We suggest that this report be prepared immediately after each handicap revision.

Tournament Scores Report: A detailed summary of a player's Tournament Scores activity that includes a listing of all Eligible Tournament Scores and, if a Tournament Adjustment is in effect, a narrative description of how the adjustment was made.  This report is very useful in explaining to (usually disbelieving and angry) adjusted players why they were adjusted by this complex and confusing USGA Handicap System provision.  You will usually prepare this report for individual players and only for those players listed as Tournament Adjusted on the Handicap Index Adjustment Report.  When an individual player is specified the report is displayed with an option to print.

Note: Per USGA Handicap System rules, the Tournament Adjustment procedure is applied only at the time of a Handicaps Re-Calculation (Revision).  This report reflects all Tournament Scores posted as of the date the report is prepared.  Therefore, to ensure that the report reflects the adjustment conditions it should be prepared immediately after a Handicaps Revision.

Player Status Listing: An "exception" listing of those players who are Inactive and/or Unpaid.  You can include either or both of Inactive and Unpaid players in the report.

Rounds Played Reports: Sometimes referred to by our customers as the "Handicap Police Report," this report shows the number of rounds posted by all selected players in your choice of three time periods: Single Date, Range of Dates, and Period To Date.  These flexible choices allow you to track scores posting anywhere from a single tournament day to an entire season.

Handicap Analysis Report: A statistical summary of handicap information for your club or course.  It includes the following: count of active players; total rounds played; average number of rounds per active player; active players with no posted rounds; average Handicap Index; number and percent of players in  Handicap Index ranges of 0 to 5, 6 to 10, 11 to 15, etc.; the five leading Most Improved Golfers; the five leading Best Rounds based on Score Differential.  The report is especially useful at season-end but may be prepared at any point during the season.

Player Scores Detail Report - Complete: A detailed list of up to the last 40 scores of a player, including Score, Date, Course and Slope Ratings, Differential, designation of Tournament, 9-Hole and Away scores and, if used, Course Name.  The report also includes the player's current handicap information and his/her Handicap Index from the last six Handicap Revisions.  The report is most useful when a player questions his/her posting record or handicap calculation, and when you need to provide a scoring record when a player moves to a new course.  Because the report for each player consists of a page we suggest that it be prepared for individual players rather than a paper-consuming group of players.

Player Scores Detail Report - General: Same as the Complete report above except that the Day in Dates and Course Name are excluded.  This form of the report complies with 2008 changes in the USGA Handicap System.  Per the USGA, it has been put in place so that "peer review will become more sensitive to privacy-related concerns."  See the USGA Handicap System Manual for definitions of the audiences for the two forms of the report.

Handicap Index History Report: An alphabetic player listing with the Revision Date and 18-Hole Handicap Index from the last 12 official Handicap Re-Calculations (Revisions).

Most Improved Golfer Report: A complete list of all players whose Handicap Index has improved in high-to-low Improvement Factor sequence.  The report is based on your selection of either the USGA or Golf Digest method for Most Improved Golfer.  Both methods are described in the GHM User Guide.  Note that to use the Most Improved feature you must establish the base Handicap Index (the Index from which Most Improved will be determined) for your players via Period Initialization from the System Functions Menu.  Most users determine Most Improved on a season-long basis, although some users do so on a monthly basis.

Ringer Scores Report: If you use the Ringer Scores feature of the program this report provides a listing of Ringer Scores in low-to-high sequence.

Name and Address Reports: If you use the Name and Address feature of the program you may prepare either or both of a printed listing or address labels.  Address label printing is formatted for the commonly available 3-across label sheets for laser and inkjet printers (e.g. Avery Product Number 5260 for laser printers).
